About the course

What parents ask first

What is hypnobirthing?

Hypnobirthing is practical antenatal preparation combining breathing, deep relaxation, focused attention and a clear understanding of how labour works.

You practise the tools before birth so they feel familiar when you need them. They can sit alongside your maternity care and support you wherever and however your baby arrives.

Ask your own question →
01

What is hypnobirthing, in simple terms?

It is practical antenatal preparation using breathing, deep relaxation, focused attention and birth education. You rehearse the tools before labour so they are easier to reach for on the day.

02

When should I start a hypnobirthing course?

Many parents begin between 20 and 34 weeks, which leaves time to practise. Earlier or later can still be useful, so ask me if your timing falls outside that window.

03

Does my birth partner attend?

Yes. Your partner is included throughout. They learn the relaxation cues, touch techniques, communication tools and the practical role they can take during labour.

04

Can hypnobirthing help if I have an induction or caesarean?

The course prepares you for more than one version of birth. Breathing, relaxation, clear communication and flexible preferences remain useful when circumstances change, alongside advice from your maternity team.

05

Does hypnobirthing guarantee a pain-free or perfect birth?

No. I don’t make a perfect-birth promise. My aim is to help you feel informed, equipped and more able to respond to the birth you actually experience.

06

Is the course the same as pregnancy yoga?

They complement one another, but they are different. Weekly pregnancy yoga includes some hypnobirthing breathwork; the private eight-hour course teaches the complete birth-preparation toolkit.

Hear first

I’ll tell you when new dates open.

Course dates, retreat weeks and new classes go to my class list before anywhere else. No noise — just a short note when something worth knowing opens up.

Your next step
